Способы выбираются разные (наркотики, алкоголь, слитные отношения, азартные игры и др.), но суть одна: убежать, спрятаться или подменить реальность, вызывающую негативные переживания, на пусть мнимое состояние, но приносящее удовольствие и эйфорию.

Каждый зависимый когда-то был созависимым.

Созависимые лица могут пойти на множество уступок и жертв со своей стороны, лишь бы сохранить связь со значимым человеком. При этом они не столько открыто коммуницируют с ним, сколько сопоставляют ответы партнера с собственными ожиданиями на его счет. В их мышлении превалируют негативизм, отрицание, недоверие, ожидание и стремление избежать худшего, которое они постоянно ищут, и как следствие, поддерживают — в своих мыслях, переживаниях, действиях. Для изменения созависимых отношений им нужен опыт других, менее слитных и более независимых взаимоотношений, в которых они смогут открыть новые грани своей личности. Такой взгляд и отношения они и находят в общении с психологом.
